Connecting urban and rural areas to empower underprivileged communities for sustainable socioeconomic development in Malaysia

WhoWE are

Established in June 2022 and duly incorporated under the Trustees (Incorporation) Act 1952 (Act 258), Yayasan Shalom Malaysia, or Shalom Foundation Malaysia, operates with a resolute mission. Our primary objective is to facilitate the connection of resources between urban and rural areas, empowering underprivileged communities for sustainable socioeconomic development.

The term "Shalom," rooted in Hebrew, transcends the mere connotation of peace. It encompasses values such as wholeness, health, harmony, and prosperity, aligning seamlessly with our organizational mission and vision.

In rural areas, our foremost focus lies in enhancing access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Our commitment is to bridge existing gaps and bolster these communities by imparting essential knowledge and skills, elevating their economic and social standing, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

At Yayasan Shalom Malaysia, our dedication extends to promoting intercultural diplomacy. We actively strive to create a platform where individuals from diverse backgrounds can interact, exchanging ideas and viewpoints to foster mutual understanding and respect. Through our varied programs and initiatives, we seek to cultivate cohesion and cooperation among different cultures and communities to bridge the urban-rural divide.

Collaboration is at the heart of our approach, and we are pleased to engage with both local and international organizations to realize our goals. We emphasize sustainable solutions that maximize available resources, ensuring lasting positive impacts.

Guided by our motto, "Commissioned to Serve," Yayasan Shalom Malaysia is committed to active participation in activities and programs that significantly contribute to the well-being of our community.
